That's what he said-
Every night when Elliott goes to bed I go down and play the piano for him for awhile. It has become quite a nice, fun and relaxing ritual. Every night I get this-
Mom, keep playing when your done playing.

Church Party
We had a ward (church) party Saturday night. We all did a little dress up- I can't resist a costume party. Craig was Indiana Jones, I was an Egyptian and E of course our Mummy.
A good chaotic time was had by all!
Learning to ride.........urgh!
Elliott just turned 6. He could CARE LESS about learning to ride a bike- he's a bit stubborn (wonder where he gets that......) He is completely happy hitching a ride on the back of dad's bike on the trail bike. It is like pulling teeth to get this kid outside to practice his bike. We've done training wheels- they were great until he tipped over and crashed- now- won't have anything to do with training wheels. So, we took off the pedals making it a push bike- I think it's better- but nowhere NEAR riding a bike! It is so funny how different all kids are! I've got 2 nephews who practically sat on a bike and never looked back and then there is my sweet E. Takes his time- I mean T A K E S his time with all things physical. However, when he actually does them, he doesn't look back and rarely falls or hurts himself. Looking at the positives!
I do look forward to bike rides without the trail bike-
I think E will get such a sense of accomplishment- I anticipate that for him!
Food
Spinach, zucchini, sun-dried tomato with quinoa pasta- dinner last night.
Seriously, I've got the best eater on the planet. I do NOT take it for granted how well Elliott eats. I'm a bit of a Nazi when it comes to food and what actually qualifies as something good for his body. I don't and won't EVER regret this. When you've had a health problem it becomes quite apparent what really matters for ones body- and many times I think people take this for granted because they have never had to worry or wonder if what they eat might possibly be contributing to their ailments or future ailments.
So- an Ode to my little man and my sweet husband who takes such good care of us, never, ever complains about what is for dinner and has eaten gluten free at home for over a year- completely free of complaints.
My boys are the best, I am so supported and ultra blessed to have them as MY BOYS!
Halloween 2010
Our whole crew- they were the best little trick or treaters!
We had a great Halloween! Elliott has been talking about being a mummy since last Halloween! Crazy to look forward to something for 365 days. I actually couldn't believe it when he still wanted to really be a mummy! My sister, Shelly (her son has wanted to be a mummy since last year too) and I decided to make their costumes. It was fun, a little more work than planned but turned out great- and the most important part? E LOVED what I'd made. The head piece was questionable- he'd only wear it (which wasn't much because I'd already anticipated this...) when I said he could remove it after pictures.
He already has decided (mind you, he decided this 3 days before actual Halloween)
that next year he is going to be a Ninja. Love him!
Halloween is his favorite holiday by far- second I would take a gamble and say is the 4th of July (involving pyrotechnics of course- fire!)- then Christmas. He has already asked me when the 4th of July will be..... He is a lover of holidays and special occasions. I am so glad- he is the best!
Silly bandz--------
For real? Going back I see Garbage Pail Kids and weird collectibles that my parents never seemed to mind us collecting- so I guess I'm just as guilty as the next. These things are crazy. I'm so glad they are small.
For those of you without little ones around, they are rubber bracelets shaped like objects- from Halloween items, to letters, to all your favorite Scooby Doo characters, to sports items, you name it- they've made it.
And they've made a FORTUNE!
Every Monday morning the PFO (like PTA- just way way way less annoying and in your face and globally masterminded) sells them outside of E's school. 1 for .25 or 5 for $1. Seriously.....??? Yes, I do know that I can buy them at Target- however, I'd rather add to the collection slowly- I've already got them everywhere.
Last night E informed us that a particular silly bandz was his "sleeping silly bandz".
Yep, for all occasion folks!
So- I now have a child who has thus far enjoyed some weird collectible.
I wonder what is next- maybe I'll invent it.......
Fall Soccer.....again!
Elliott LOVES soccer! Therefore, I LOVE soccer. I used to think the whole soccer gig was lame- but now that I have a little one who enjoys it so much, how could I not love it? He adores his teammates (they can't seem to keep their hands to themselves), likes his coaches (they are both so GREAT!) and looks forward to practice and games. Now, if it the rain would stop-
ONLY for games- we'd be set!
He is such a lively kid and so fun! As I always say....never a dull moment!
